How to Solve the Problem of a Disabled Facebook Account

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results and yet many advertisers make the same mistakes. A big mistake is to try to appeal a rejected ad.

Now you're probably saying, "But Trevor, that's nonsense. How ELSE am I going to get my rejected Facebook ad live again?

First of all you need to slow your roll if you are so eager to run ads you missed why Facebook rejected your original ads. Or adverts as the British like to call them.

If you need some tips on running ads on FB as a business, read How to Navigate Facebook’s Advertising Policies as a Business.

Because when the rubber meets the pavement and you have to ask, "facebook disabled my account what do I do next?" the biggest takeaway is you need to look closer at the ads you ran.

They hold the clues on what violations in the Facebook ad policies you made. And your ads also have the clues for what to do differently next time.[Read: Your Access Can't Be Reinstated here]

Violating the Facebook Terms and Conditions

Ok so many ad agencies are confused about Facebook's terms and conditions. As a result, they run afoul of the ad policies pretty quickly. Facebook's articles are little to no help at all.

Facebook or Meta's terms and conditions essentially state, "This is a private website owned by Mark, we can do whatever the fuck we want to."

In case you forgot - Facebook isn't a public school or governmental entity that you pay taxes to get a vote on. It's one dude's website. Which means you need to know the rules of engagement before engaging. Or the automations that control which ads are approved or not will be doing this to you:

Yes, I love movies with Samuel L. Jackson, he's one of my favorite actors. But, let's get back to Facebook. The terms and conditions include the advertising policies. If you get shut down, it's because your ads have flags in them you did not see.

The real secret is to take a preventative approach. You know what a post mortem is in the startup world?

As Tech Target states, "It's also called a project retrospective, is a process for evaluating the success (or failure) of a project's ability to meet business goals."

As much as it may seem like common sense to evaluate your Facebook ads from a policy perspective before they go live, shockingly few advertisers do this!!!

Have you been trying for years to uncover the secret of how Facebook flags ads and avoid the ban hammer? Does your company waste too much time and money trying to side step the automation landmines?

That was the case for my client Jack Randall. Jack is a social media marketer that kept getting shutdown by Facebook until we worked together.

"Trevor helped me successfully diagnose exactly why my ad account was disabled, and helped me frame out a plan to move forward."

Account Got Hacked

I've got some news for you: Facebook doesn't trust you. Even if you are the victim of getting hacked, your Business Manager or Facebook Business Page getting compromised puts everyone at risk.

As a result, when you (naively) report your ad account or profile as being hacked to Facebook and expect a super hero savior - you'll get crickets.

You gotta step back and see it from another perspective besides just your own. Facebook has over a quadrillion hundred billion ads live everyday.

That means the automations are taxed trying to police the ad violations, as well as the Community Standards violations for regular profiles. Do you know how many people get hacked every day as well?

Globally, an estimated 30,000 websites are hacked each day. Facebook actually has hackers reporting legit profiles as being hacked right before they hack them!!

This is a technique to get Facebook to mistrust you. The hackers will send you a fake Facebook email to get your log info. TLDR: if you are hacked your profile and advertising assets are toast. You'll have to start fresh.

When Does Facebook Disable Your Account?

You may not be aware of this but Facebook is always profiling you. When you run ads, your ad account has its own score. So does your Business Manager.

Facebook even scores your personal profile through automations to determine if Facebook wants your friends to see your posts. If you have a low score your ad costs go up, risk factors increase oh and your friends won't see your posts.
